Final Year Project

Project Title

A Novel Approach to PPI Network Analysis

Description

Our FYP revolves around predicting protein complexes in protein-protein interaction networks (PPIN) using ensemble clustering. PPI Network data is noisy and incomplete, often contains false-positives, and present algorithms are limited in their scope and overlook certain properties, e.g. unable to account small and sparse protein complexes. PPI Networks are also represented as static objects which leads to oversimplification of complex biological features. Our proposed solutions involves incorporating data from multiple sources and then making use of an ensemble clustering framework to account for algorithmic limitations and incorporate further biological information into our PPI networks through the use of dynamic PPI networks.
